A San Anto, Tejas native, Adriana M. Garcia, is a Chicana visual artist, muralist and illustrator which she likes to think of as mini murals for book lovers. Her debut picture book ALL AROUND US (by Xelena Gonzalez, Cinco Puntos Press) was awarded the prestigious 2018 Pura Belpré Honor for illustration, and the 2018 Tomas Rivera Award among other honors. Her second book WHERE WONDER GROWS by the same author and press received a Kirkus star and was awarded the 2023 Pura Belpré for illustration. Gonzalez and Garcia's latest collaboration REMEMBERING (Simon & Schuster) has received three stars each from Kirkus Reviews , School Library Journal and Publishers Weekly. Adriana hopes the images she creates continue to celebrate the people, traditions and environment that surrounds her.
